Week 1, Day 2:
Rooted in Love
“…that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend… the breadth and length and height and depth of it…”
— Ephesians 3:17–18 (AMP)
Roots matter. You can’t see them, but they determine everything—how strong a tree stands, how much fruit it bears, and how it weathers storms.
Paul prays that we would be rooted and grounded in love, not in religion, performance, approval, or fear. When your identity is rooted in how much God loves you, you become immovable when life tries to shake you.
Some people are rooted in rejection. Others are rooted in insecurity, shame, or comparison. But Jesus invites us to be rooted in something stronger—His unfailing love.
Storms will come. Disappointments will happen. People may let you down. But God’s love doesn’t change, and it never fails. When your roots go down into that, you’ll still stand—thriving when others are barely surviving.
Reflection:
Where have I been rooted? Has it been in God’s love, or in something else like fear, rejection, or striving?
Declaration:
“God, I choose to root my life in Your love. No matter what I face, I believe that You love me, and that love makes me unshakeable.”
