Week 2, Day 3:

The Privilege of Sonship

You didn’t stumble into sonship. You were chosen for it. God wasn’t looking for servants to manage His kingdom, He was after sons and daughters to know His heart.

This isn’t just a title. “Child of God” is an identity rooted in relationship. God didn’t just forgive you, He adopted you. That means He brought you close, gave you His name, His Spirit, and His love. He treats you like His own because you are.

Sometimes we forget the weight of that truth. We think God tolerates us. But He delights in us. He doesn’t call us sons and daughters because of our perfection, but because of His affection. Sonship isn’t earned, it’s received. It’s not fragile or temporary, it’s eternal and secure.

When you understand that you are God’s child, it changes everything. You no longer live for approval, you live from it. You walk in confidence, knowing your Father is for you, with you, and in love with you.

“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!” ‭‭

1 John 3:1 ‭NKJV‬‬

Reflection:

Do I think and live like a child of God—secure, loved, and chosen—or do I act like I still have to earn my place in the family?

Declaration:

“Father, thank You for calling me Your child. I receive the love You’ve lavished on me. Help me to live from sonship. Not striving, but resting in the relationship You’ve given me.”
