Week 2, Day 5:
The Power That Melts Mountains
“The mountains melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.”
— Psalm 97:5 (NKJV)
Mountains represent what feels immovable in our lives—fear, anxiety, addiction, pride, pain, or sin. But the presence of the Lord is not intimidated by what intimidates you. In fact, when God shows up, the impossible melts like wax.
This verse doesn’t say the mountains cracked or crumbled, it says they melted. There’s no fight. No resistance. Just the overwhelming, undeniable authority of God at work.
So often, we try to conquer mountains in our own strength. But what if the answer isn’t striving, but seeking? When you cultivate a life of God’s presence—through worship, prayer, and surrender—the very things that once seemed unshakable start to lose their power.
Don’t be discouraged by what looks permanent. Nothing stands forever in the presence of the Lord.
Reflection:
What “mountains” in my life have I been trying to move without the presence of God? What would it look like to invite Him in today?
Declaration:
“Lord, Your presence is greater than anything I face. I surrender my mountains to You, knowing they melt like wax when You are near. You are the Lord of the whole earth—and You are with me.”
