Week 4, Day 4:
Capturing the Crazy Before It Captures You
“…take every thought captive to make it obedient to Christ.”
— 2 Corinthians 10:5 (NIV)
You can’t stop every triggering thought from coming—but you can stop it from settling. And that’s what love empowers you to do.
Before offense turns into bitterness, before annoyance turns into rage, before disappointment turns into division—you’ve got a decision. In The Fight of Your Life, I also mentioned:
“If you don’t take your thoughts captive, they’ll take you captive.”
The love of God isn’t passive. It’s powerful. It gives you the strength to take that thought, inspect it, and ask: Is this from God, or is this feeding my flesh? When you win that fight, you win in your relationships too.
Reflection:
What thoughts have I been entertaining that need to be taken captive and brought into obedience?
Confession:
“I don’t let my thoughts run wild. I take them captive. I refuse to let offense or insecurity set the tone—God’s love is my filter.”
